Irene F. Andujar Hazlet, New Jersey Obituary

Irene F. Andujar

Irene F. Andujar, 59, of Keansburg, New Jersey passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021. She was born on October 3, 1961 and was raised in Queens, New York. Irene met her beloved husband, Daniel Andujar and began their married life on October 6, 1984. The two lived in Queens until moving to Bayonne, New Jersey in 1985, and settling in Keansburg, New Jersey in 1990 where they raised their family.

Irene began her career in Manhattan as a receptionist with Merrill Lynch. During her tenure, she made strides as the first woman within the company to learn and work on the organization’s first computers. Once she moved to the suburbs to start her family, Irene started a new role with Swain and Westreich where she began her career as a paralegal. After over 20 years with Swain and Westreich, Irene created her own independently owned and operated paralegal service. Through her years as an independent contractor, she worked with multiple law firms where she grew her professional network and made many lifelong friends.

Irene will be remembered as the life of the party. Everything from her eyes to her shoes sparkled and she truly lit up every room she entered. Irene was beautiful inside and out. This beauty was accentuated by her outfits that shined, impeccably done nails, and perfectly applied lipstick. Her glass was never half-empty and always re-filled with a smile. She was always the first on the dancefloor and the last to leave. She loved so many things in life including throwing parties, lounging by the pool with a “frosty drink,” cooking the most delicious meals, and of course her beloved pets Jax, Mazie and Roxy. Above all, Irene’s devotion to her family and her friends was apparent in all things she did.

Most importantly, Irene will be remembered for her incredible strength. Through a long-fought four-year battle with pancreatic cancer, Irene never showed weakness. Instead, she channeled positivity and optimism to fuel her strength, bravery, and grace. Family and friends have been inspired and will continue to celebrate her legacy.

She was predeceased by her parents Ellen (Walters) and Rudolph Tessmer, and her beloved husband, Daniel Andujar. She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Eric Andujar and his wife, Brandi of Keansburg, New Jersey, Alex Andujar and his wife, Michelle of Keansburg, New Jersey, her caring siblings, Charlie Tessmer and his wife, Carol, R.J. Tessmer and his wife, Betty, and Suellen Lass and her husband Gary, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Irene will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM, at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. In respect of Irene’s wishes she will be privately cremated. For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Irene can be made to her family to help with funeral expenses and would be greatly appreciated

As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of 100 persons allowed in the funeral home at one time. In order to accommodate all of Irene's family and friends, we ask that you please be brief while visiting in order to make room for additional guests to pay their respects; we thank you for your understanding during this time. Face protection is also required as per state regulations.

My sister-in-law, Irene, always had a smile for you. She was fun-loving, energetic, tough and a fighter. I remember her as my little flower girl at my wedding. As she grew up, she babysat for me. She enjoyed a good time and she will be missed. Carol Tessmer
