Mariano Garcia, age 89, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico on May 27, 1931 to the late Augustine Garcia and Marcela Vazquez Martinez. Mariano was a small business owner, and for many years was employed as a maintenance worker for various properties. Mariano leaves his wife Ana E. (Ortiz) Garcia of Springfield; four sons, Richard Garcia, Nelson Garcia, Mike Garcia and Edward Garcia; three daughters, Maria Garcia, Nancy Reyes, Daisy Garcia, 24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 12 noon at Sampson Chapel of the Acres 21 Tinkham Rd. Springfield with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, February 16 from 10 am until 12 noon.
