Una Lois Coffman Obituary

Una Lois Coffman passed away peacefully Monday, July 3, 2017 at Kent General Hospital surrounded by her family. Lois, or G-MA, as she was affectionately known by most, was born July 22, 1940 in Hollywood, W.Va., daughter to the late Mary Pauline Turner. She was a graduate of Gap Mills High School in Union, W.V. Lois married the love of her life, Donald, on October 2, 1969. In addition to raising six children and many grandchildren, Lois enjoyed bowling, watching golf, and crocheting blankets for anyone who asked. She was heavily involved in all of her family’s activities, especially those of her grandchildren. Lois always had a meal ready for anyone who knocked on her door. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dover and was an Associate Member of Kent County Chapter 850, Vietnam Veterans of America. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Pyne; son-in-law, D. Paul Thomas, Jr.; granddaughter, Mikayla Coffman; and grandson-in-law, Sean Hudson. Lois is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Donald of Magnolia; children, Debbie (Scott) Handges of Magnolia, Dianne (Frank) Coppola of Felton, Michael (Sheila) Coffman of Willow Grove, Dawn (Ben) Hollinger of Magnolia, Denise (Tony) DeVary of Magnolia, and Billie Ann (Matt) Bennett of Dover; Beth (Mike) Scott, Sara Hudson, A.J. Handges, Jonathan Gemmill (Nicky grandchildren, Sullivan), Donald W. Coffman, Daniel (Diann) Coffman, Anna Coffman, Johnny DeVary, Seth Ramsey, and Morgan Ramsey; great-grandchildren: Michael Scott, Lauren Scott, Donald W. Coffman, Jr., Serenity Sells, and Parker Hudson. She is also survived by her siblings, Wanda (Kyle) Largen, Patsy Nelson, Randy (Susan), Carol (Sonny) Pyne, and Robert (Tammy) Turner. Services will be held Noon on Tuesday, July 11th at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd, Dover. A visitation will be held from 10 until noon, when a service will be held. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions be made in Lois’s honor, to Vietnam Veterans Chapter 850, P.O.
