Jeffrey Scott Lewis Big Timber, Montana Obituary

Jeffrey Scott Lewis

On Saturday, February 6th, 2021, Jeffrey Scott Lewis passed away at age 59. Jeff was born in Havre, Montana, the first of two sons to Ray and Charlotte Eder Lewis. Jeff lived in several towns in Montana before finally settling in Billings where he attended and graduated from Billings Central . He went on to receive his degree from Billings Eastern (now Montana State University Billings). After earning his CPA he began his career in accounting, and eventually became CFO of an umbrella of companies in the precious metals business. His career took him all over the United States. While working in Colorado, Jeff met Theresa and her daughter Tara. Jeff and Theresa married and a job transfer brought them to Montana, his true home. There, his son Robert and daughter Sara were born. A new career opportunity brought them to Big Timber, where they raised their children. Jeff was a man of many naturally gifted talents. He put hard work and passion into anything he set his mind to, yet remained humble. He enjoyed golf, growing flowers, and later on in life painting. Jeff was known for entertaining large gatherings in his backyard and cooking fantastic food while surrounded with enjoyable company. He loved the natural beauty of the mountains of Glacier Park and the beaches of Floridian gulf coast and was able to take several trips with his family to both. Jeff had a fantastic sense of humor, and was easygoing and fun to be around. He especially enjoyed his annual camping trips with his life-long buddies. Practical jokes were a part of his personality though his sense of responsibility would shine at all times; he would drive any number of miles to help a loved one. In recent years, Jeff was very active in his 4th Day Men’s group, forming strong friendships and increasing his faith and knowledge. He was very active in his parish at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and lead adult faith groups for the past several years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jeff’s father, Ray, preceded him in death. His wife, Theresa and children Tara Murphy (Tyler), Robert Lewis, Sara Lewis, his mother Charlotte, brother Gregg (Mary), aunts and uncles, many nieces and nephews, beloved dogs, and friends from all over the world survive him. Jeff displayed uncommon courage and faith in the last months of his life. He is adored, loved, and greatly missed. The family only funeral will be held on February 19th, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Big Timber. Jeff’s 4th Day Men’s Group is also included as his extended family for the service. Memorial donations in Jeff’s name can be sent to: Billings Central School Foundation P.O. Box 31158 Billings, MT 59107
