<p>Walker Gordon Link, age 86, beloved husband of the late Barbara Link, of Fairfield, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021. Born in Stamford on August 11, 1934 to Dr. Samuel Benijah Link and Mary Catherine Seaman, Walker grew up loving to work and to help others. At the age of 12, Walker would spend summers in Fairfield caring for horses on several local farms. He later attended J.M. Wright Technical School in Stamford for tool and die making. Walker went on to work for Pitney Bowes and Lacey Manufacturing, making parts for the first fax machines and parts for NASA space suits. While growing up in Stamford, Walker met and married Joyce Elliott. The two began their family and moved to Fairfield. Walker later remarried to Barbara. He loved cooking and baking as well as helping his loved ones; he never forgot to bake chocolate chip cookies for a gathering, and always made time to help with repairs of any kind. Walker is survived by his loving children, Michael Link (Gail), Jeff Link, Cindy Link Vaporis, and Walker DiCarlo; his beloved grandchildren, Calvin Mooney, April Link, Jeffery Link Jr., and Cole Vaporis; as well as his nieces and nephews, Sally Miller (Robert),Barbara Murphy, Teter Murphy, Joseph Murphy, Chris Murphy, Cindy Camminiti and Robert Bilder; . In addition to his wife, Barbara, Walker is predeceased by his sisters, Patricia Murphy and Sally Bilder; his brother, Samuel Link; his daughter, Catherine Gross; his nephews, Brian and Thomas Murphy; as well as his granddaughter, Christy Vaporis.
