Ramon Herman Martinez
<p>Ramon, (known to his family as Herman) was born in Cuarteles, NM on Monday, March 20, 1939, to Ramon Martinez and Arminda Fresquez Martinez.<br /> Herman was preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Arminda; brothers, Agapito, Lupe, and Leo; brothers-in-law, Manual Bustos, Ross Bustos, and Tito Bustos. Herman is survived by his former wife, Stella Martinez, and their children, daughter, Megan Cave and husband, Allen of Albuquerque; son, Stephen Martinez of Albuquerque; step-son, Eric Montano of Bosque; granddaughters, Britney and Gabriella Cave; brothers, Ross Martinez and wife, Mary of Cuarteles, Harold Martinez and wife, Roberta of La Mesilla, and Orlando Martinez and wife, MaryAnn of Cuarteles; sisters, Lourdes Bustos of Sombrillo, Evelyn Bustos of Velarde, Helen Bustos of Fairview, Georgia Maestas (Reyes) of Milwaukie, OR, and Donila Martinez and husband, Dicky of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews.<br /> Herman was larger than life to his family. They share many fond memories of him. He was always very forward thinking, innovative, and very protective of his family. One of his best qualities was his selflessness. <br /> Herman graduated from Santa Cruz High School in Espanola in 1958 where he earned a full scholarship to play football for Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM. He loved Karaoke and enjoyed performing Elvis songs. <br /> Herman was a journeyman for Quest Communications and retired after many years of service. <br /> Herman was an avid believer and lover of God, and spent much of his life teaching others about the Bible.
