<p>Clinton,</p> <p>Joyce King Shipp</p> <p>April 29, 1935 &ndash; February 12, 2021</p> <p>Joyce King Shipp, 85, passed away Friday, February 12, at Four Oaks Assisted Living, Four Oaks, NC.</p> <p>A funeral will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, February 16 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 118 Fayetteville St., Clinton, with Rev. Tim Ameen officiating.&nbsp; Friends will be received following the service at the funeral home.&nbsp; The family requests wearing of masks and practicing social distancing.</p> <p>Joyce truly loved caring for her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.&nbsp; Her favorite retirement activities were working outdoors, traveling and supporting her grandchildren in their events.&nbsp; She loved music and theater, rarely missing a production by the Sampson Community Theatre.</p> <p>Born in 1935 in Sampson County, Joyce was the daughter of the late Reuben King and Stella Hairr.&nbsp; Joyce worked with Hamilton Beach Co., in Clinton for many years before joining her husband, W. B., in his church ministry.&nbsp; She will be remembered for her kindness and compassion for all people and her advocacy for the less fortunate.&nbsp; Her sense of humor endeared&nbsp;her to all.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by siblings, James Melvin King, Sadie King,&nbsp; Bennett Boyette, Mack King and Louis King.</p> <p>Survivors include:&nbsp; son, William Glenn Shipp; daughters, Brenda Shipp Stallings and husband Ray and Phyllis Jean Shipp Hedrick and husband, James &ldquo;Jim&rdquo;; grandchildren: Somer Shipp Powell, Erin Stallings Ruppe and husband John Paul Ruppe, IV, Joan and Joshua Hedrick; great-grandchildren, Hayden Lynn Stallings, Abigail and Aubrey Ruppe; great-great granddaughter, Eleanor Norris; sister, Jewel Stevens and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.</p> <p>Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.crumpler-honeycutt.com.</p> <p>Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the The Alzheimer&rsquo;s Association Eastern North Carolina Chapter, at www.act.alz.org/site/Donation or 800-272-3900.</p> <p>The family deeply appreciates the loving care shown by the staff of Four Oaks Assisted Living and Medi Home Hospice.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
