Haydee “Pucha” Cruz-Melgares – A Loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, aunt, Cousin and Friend gained her wings on February 8, 2021 at the home of her son with her children & grandchildren by her side. Haydee was born to Wilfredo Cruz and Gladys Marrero on May 15, 1955 in Manhattan, New York. Haydee grew up in New York, Connecticut & Puerto Rico and was a proud Latina who loved to represent her heritage and culture. Haydee (Pucha) loved music, dancing, cooking, arts & crafts and spending time with family, friends, and most of all her grandchildren. She will be remembered for all the love she gave, the many people she helped, her open door comfort, giving spirit, her cooking, crafts, and always dancing. Haydee (Pucha) rests in peace knowing she left a legacy behind starting with her children: Jocelyn Rubio (Alex Rubio), Wilson Soto (Ada Roman), Jamie Rosado (Vic Hylton); Godchildren: Tiana Acevedo (Ivan Villalona), Jolyn Boyrie, Timothy Holden; Grandchildren: Jasmine Soto, Diego Soto, Shaun Bargeron Jr., Milagros Soto, Dominic Soto, Jalyana Portrille, Jalyza Portille, and Adamari Rubio; Brother, Wilfredo Cruz, Jr. (Paula Cruz), Sisters: Ohilida Escartin & Lisette Cruz; Extended Grandchildren: Penny, Benny, Alec, Gabby, Jonathan (Macho), Jazlyn, Cole, Jordan, Alyssa, Nick, Isaac, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews she loved immensely. Haydee (Pucha) was preceded in death by her Mother, Gladys Marrero; Father, Wilfredo Cruz, Sr.; and Sister, Yolanda. Haydee’s (Pucha’s) legacy will live through the generations she created and the one’s she loved and inspired throughout her life! Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 22, 2021 in the chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Haydee (Pucha) will be laid to rest directly afterwards in the Ascension Mausoleum at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery where Pastor Domingo will complete the committal and her home going celebration will continue at 8436 Wagenhals Road, Jacksonville, FL 32210.May 15, 1955 - February 8, 202105/15/195502/08/2021
