Christopher D Avery Obituary

Christopher (Chris) D. Avery, always the life of the party, partied himself out of life on February 8, 2021 at the age of 48. Everyone always wants to know what somebody died of ... well, MYOB. Predeceased by his mother Alice E. Deery of Westield, MA, he leaves behind a couple of ex-wives, his beloved daughters Allison R. Avery of Westford, MA and Emma J. Avery of Westfield, MA, and (surprise!) his son Jared W. J. Foley of Candia, NH. Also left behind are his golfing mentor father Daniel B. Avery and stepmother Lynn Avery of Palm City, Florida. His siblings Rebecca J. Clerkin of Dover, NH, Daniel A. Deery, Jr. of Westfield, MA and Regina M. Micciulla of Farmington, NH will never have the pleasure of seeing his “Raining Men” dance again. Several in-laws, aunts, nieces and nephews, and cousins are already missing his critiques of 22 News. A 1990 graduate of St. Mary’s High of Westfield, MA, Chris went on to college (aka party) at UMASS Amherst for a 5-year stint, before those became fashionable. His time in his fraternity Delta Upsilon was very important to him (and assisted in the party part of his experience). He then went on to actually get his bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix. He had started his master’s degree with Southern NH University, but did not have a chance to complete it. His charming personality, force of will, and gift of gab uniquely positioned him to be an amazing salesman, working most recently for Rypos, Inc, selling filters. In the past he has also managed to sell generators, roses door to door, and was a high salesman for the St. Mary’s elementary school candy bar drive. Another past career was doing stand-up comedy, which was a natural calling. He devoted many years to the Army National Guard, where he became an expert at convincing everyone he was busy. A small family gathering will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home in Westfield, MA. A larger outdoor celebration of life will be planned when the weather is better. To be notified of that event, please leave your contact name at https://docs.google.com/document/d/19avHq31-yDXXkNqp-zqFXAguXF9wq6DVnmOYMXDDHiM/edit?usp=sharing or contact Becky Clerkin at 603-502-7910.
