Dorothy Paddock

Dorothy Paddock Middletown, N.Y. Dorothy Paddock, a beloved mom and grandparent, died after a long illness at Middletown Park Manor on February 8, 2021. She was 89. The daughter of John and Mary Milanich, she was born in Passaic, N.J. on October 25, 1931. Dorothy graduated from Garfield H.S. in June of 1947 and met the love of her life at a rollerskating rink and married Thomas Paddock on July 18, 1953. It was a beautiful union and together they raised three children in Pequannock, N.J. Dorothy worked in Retail at Innovation Luggage Company for 25 years. After their retirement the family moved to Whiting N.J. where she enjoyed the pool, Senior trips, canasta,bingo and lots of friendships. She had a passion for crocheting and made beautiful pieces for all the family to enjoy. One of her proudest and thoughtful accomplishments was making eight baby blankets; one for each of her grandchildren to present to their first born. In 2016, they relocated to Middletown to be closer to family. She loved spending time with all of us , especially the children. She found so much joy being around them , singing and teaching them some special songs. Her love of Elvis will always be remembered. It was during these last few years that Thais Merced came into our lives to help care for mom, and their bond was like no other; Thais quickly became part of our family. Dorothy is survived by her three daughters, Deborah Hiner, Donna Lind (Paul) Doreen Morstatt and a brother, John Wasilik (Pat) and eight beloved grandchildren; Erica Rinker(Rodney), Meghan Garcia(Ozzy), Courtney McClelland (Ryan), Joseph Morstatt( Dana), Ryan Lind(Jacqueline), Michael Morstatt(Sonnia), Brittany Lind and Ashley Lind as well as 17 great grandchildren . She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Thomas and her son -in-law, Joseph A. Morstatt. Visitation will be held on Monday February 15, 2021 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Ave. Middletown. Burial will follow in the family plot at Wallkill Cemetery .
