Celia Maria Brukiewa, formerly of Payson, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021, at 76 years of age. She passed at her daughter's home in Provo, after months of declining health. Celia was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Jose de Alencar and Ruth Lorenzetto, the oldest of 3 sisters. As a teenager, she took care of her mother until her death, after the death of her own father.

Celia married Antonio Roberto at age 23, with whom she had three children, Celia Regina, Alessandra and Eduardo. Years after her divorce, Celia moved to the United States with a job opportunity that change the direction of her life. 

In 1992, after being in Utah for two years, lovely Celia was courted by Jerry Brukiewa. Together, they built a new life, enjoyed traveling around the world while supporting their children every way they could. She volunteered at the Springville Museum of Art, and worked at the Provo LDS Temple for several years. Celia and Jerry were married for 27 years before Jerry passed away in March 2020.

Celia loved learning, and attended UVU, where she graduated in Fine Arts. She loved long drives with beautiful scenery where she could take pictures that inspired her paintings. 

Celia always had a positive word of support for all those who surrounded her, was a good, spirited soul, and a great example to her children of hard work and commitment. 

Celia is survived by her sisters Marisa and Mara, her three children, and five grandchildren. 

Loving mother, wonderful friend, adorable wife, fun grandmother. 

Private graveside services for Celia will be held in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.
