Mary Crowder England

Mary Crowder England, age 90 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021. She was married to the late Thurman R. England for 37 years. Born on July 17, 1930, Mary was one of seven children of John Vasco and Mallie Howard Crowder. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings: Genevra Carter, Henry Crowder, Louise Tadsen, Bernell Clayton, Howard Crowder, and John Crowder. She is survived by two sons: John William (Renee) England of Sparta, TN and Jerome Crowder (Linda) England of Jasper, TN. Four grandchildren: Kayla (Clint) Peterman of Cookeville, Emily (Caleb) Barnes of McMinnville, Mallory England of Nashville, and Evan England of Jasper. Three great-grandchildren: Channing and Camille Peterman and Lucy Barnes. One sister-in-law: Lou Crowder of Crossville. Several cherished nieces and nephews also survive. Since Mary was thirteen years old, she cared for people with illnesses. She worked for many years at the White County Hospital and spent thirty years as a doctor's assistant for Dr. Robert F. Baker Sr. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Jeff Guth and Ken Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Sunday from 12:00 P.M. until time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the White County Library, Robinson Chapel Presbyterian Church, or Sparta First Methodist Church Children's Christmas Fund.
