Carolyn Ferguson (Smith)
Carolyn Ferguson, 99, of Flanders, NJ passed away peacefully on February 1, 2021 at Paragon Village in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ just shy of her 100th birthday. Carolyn of born in Newark, NJ on March 12, 1921 to the late Allan Weston Smith and the late Mabel (Crumby) Smith. She lived in Livingston, NJ for most of her adult life. Carolyn worked as a telephone operator for New Jersey Bell in Livingston for 41 years. She had an amazing sense of fashion and love dressing up and going shopping. She also enjoyed sewing and dancing. She is survived by her three devoted sons, Barry Ferguson, William Ferguson, and Retired Lt. Col. Bryan Ferguson; eight loving grandchildren, Karen, Kim, Christina, Kelli, Dawn, Kristen, and Kyle; nine cherished great-grandchildren; and by many other loving family members and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, William “Wally” John Ferguson; two sisters, Evelyn Ely and Dorothy Small; and grandson, Bryan Ferguson. Carolyn’s Life Celebration will include a visitation on Saturday February 6, 2021 from 3PM – 4:30PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Road, Chester, NJ 07930.
