Donald A Yorke, 93, of Roselle, NJ passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2021. Born in Elizabeth, NJ he was the son of the late Lewis and Effie Yorke. Donald graduated from Abraham Clark High School in 1946 and went on to work for the Daily Journal and finished his professional career working for the Roselle Public Library. An avid traveler, a few stand out adventures were his bus trip with Jimmy and Jimmy’s mother through a few European countries, as well as his travels to Israel with his brother Bob. As a lifelong sports fan, specifically a “die-hard fan” of the New York Giants and the New York Mets, one of Donald’s greatest joys was watching a ball game and rooting for his favorite teams. His love of sports is only rivaled by his love of family. Any family member in his presence felt his love and warmth. Donald was always a staple of any family or holiday event. Although he never had children of his own, Donald was an ever-present father figure to his nephews Jimmy, Buddy, and Steve. They fondly remember his “Goodie bag” of junk food that accompanied Donald every Thursday. Donald will be greatly missed by his surviving family members.
