Faye Metts Heath, 73, of 1127 Crawford Dairy Road in Chapel Hill, North Carolina passed away at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. A native of Jones County, North Carolina, she was the wife of Chester Ray Heath who survives, and the daughter of Joseph Martin Metts and Hattie Mae Jarman Metts, both deceased. Faye was a member of Sunrise Church in Chapel Hill. Other than her husband of the home, Faye is survived by two daughters; Jerri Rogers and husband Mark of Mebane, North Carolina and Natalie Crawford and her husband Jason of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Also surviving are her five grandchildren; Hannah Crawford, Ella Rogers, Jack Rogers, Levi Crawford and Max Crawford and her siblings; Margaret Smith, Sidney Metts, Nelson Metts, Carlton Metts, Ray Metts and Bruce Metts. Faye is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, Ivey Metts, Gladys Metts, Hilda Futrell, Gene Metts, and Franklin Metts. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 2:00pm at Sunrise Church in Chapel Hill with Pastor Rod Chaney officiating with the casket lying in state at the church beginning at 1:00pm. A private burial will be held at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Sunrise Church, 1315 New Hope Trace, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, 27516. Walker’s Funeral Home of Mebane is serving the Heath Family.
