It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Margaret Gertrude McCagg (nee Cuthbertson) of Red Deer, Alberta at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the age of 82 years. Margaret was born on April 27, 1938 in Shawville, Quebec. Margaret married James ‘Hugh’ McCagg on June 9, 1956. Hugh was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. They were transferred to France, Manitoba, Ontario and Germany, with their growing family of three children. They returned to Cold Lake, Alberta in 1967; where they were settled, until their move to Red Deer in 2009. Margaret loved a good BBQ with friends and family. She was always willing to open her home to any small or large family celebrations. In the summer, she could always be found working in her garden. She will be truly missed by all that knew her. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her children, Garry McCagg (Kate Bezboridka) of Edmonton, Alberta, Gwendolyn McCagg (David Robidoux) and Nancy-Faye McCagg, both of Red Deer, Alberta; her four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; as well as numerous family members and many dear friends. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Hugh McCagg; a brother, Harold Cuthbertson and a sister, Jean Davies. A Private Family Memorial Service was held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Red Deer, Alberta. Interment was held at the Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
