Martin Lawrence Myhre Obituary

Martin Lawrence Myhre, of Temple, Oklahoma, was born January 8, 1952 at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska to Lawrence Odin and Karoline Lorraine (Evenson) Myhre. He passed away on February 1, 2021 in Lawton at the age of 69.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center of Duncan.

Martin graduated from Alpena (Michigan) High School in June, 1970. In 1972 he entered the US Navy where his first assignment was on board the USS Long Beach (CGN-9). He was honorably discharged in 1976. He then enrolled in Alpena Community College. He graduated in 1978 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Liberal Education. He worked for 3 years as a Salem, Oregon civilian police officer. In 1981 he re-enlisted and was assigned to the USS Boone (FFG-28). He was again honorably discharged in 1997 where he had been assigned to the 343rd Training Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During his naval career he earned many ribbons, commendations, and medals.

Martin is survived by his brother, Randy Myhre; sisters: Karen Myhre, Denise Nagy, Charolette Tiffin, Cheryl Jacobs; and nieces and nephews.
