Jo Ann Mason

Jo Ann Mason, age 83 of Elkin, passed away, Friday, January 1, 2016 at Pruitt Healthcare in Elkin. Jo Ann was born in Gilford County on August 17, 1932. She was a member of East Elkin full Gospel Church, and loved her church family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Mason, a daughter, Bobbie Jean Freeman, and a sister, Lolene Matthews. She is survived by her grandson, Brian Holcomb and wife Tina, great-grandson, Joshua Foster, a sister, Jane Wiren, and a niece, Johnsie Williams, also a best friend, Glenda Walters. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 5, 2015 from 3:00-4:00p.m., at Johnson Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will start at 4:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, by Rev. Jerry Childress. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pruitt-Health Hospice in Elkin. Johnson Funeral Home is serving the family of Jo Ann Mason.
