Beattie, Kenneth Francis (Ken) May 25, 1932-February 5, 2021 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Beattie of High River. Ken passed away at the age of 88 at the High River hospital. Ken is survived by his sister, Corinne Collins (Elvin); son Dan (Laurie); 3 grandchildren, Becca, Johnathan (Brandy) and Loni (Michael). He also had 4 great grandchildren, Oliver, Brooklyn, Mercy and Mckinley and numerous nieces and nephews. Ken was born in Ft. MacLeod to Mary and Fred Beattie. He went to school in Black Diamond (by horseback). After school years he went to work in the Oil and Gas Industry as a welder. In 1952 Ken started a career with Mobil/Imperial Oil. He worked for them for 37 years in Alberta, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. He retired in 1989. Ken and his wife, Joan moved back out west where they spent some peaceful years at Cypress Hills Provincial Park in Saskatchewan until finally settling in High River. Ken and Joan were both avid golfers and enjoyed the Highwood Golf Course. They also loved golfing and enjoying the warm weather of Arizona for quite a number of winters. Ken was predeceased by his wife, Joan and his daughter, Marjorie, 2 brothers, 1 sister and his parents. A celebration of Kens life will be held later this summer. Arrangements made in care of Snodgrass funeral homes (High River). If desired memorial donations may be made to High River Meals on Wheels.
