Betty Lynn Dodd
Bette Lynn Dodd, 70, passed comfortably in her home in Peachtree Corners, GA, with her husband by her side on the evening of Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021. Bette was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, graduated from Sheepshead Bay High School, and spent her adult years in Brooklyn, New York and Atlanta, GA raising her family. Bette was passionate about helping people and spent many years working with students and families in the Dekalb County Public School System, retiring in 2014. Bette is predeceased by her parents, Yetta and Hy Warshaw, her sister, Susan Plascoff, and her daughter, Hannah Elizabeth Dodd. Bette is survived by her husband, Kerry Dodd, her children, Emilly Dodd, Jesse Dodd (Yvonne Dodd), Becky O’Meara (Billy O’Meara), and Jacob Dodd, her grandchildren, Henry O’Meara, Logan Dodd, Charlotte O’Meara, and Ari Dodd, and her sister, Doreen Shapiro (Stu Shapiro). Bette always said to “smile with your heart”; a mantra and legacy that her children will carry on. She touched so many lives and will be missed greatly by family, friends, loved ones and anyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The ALS Association of Georgia. A virtual memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 3 PM EST.
