Wayne H. Marra Obituary

Mr. Wayne Marra, age 84, of Orange City, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at the Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center. There will be a private family funeral service on Friday, February 12, at 2:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. The Rev. Benjamin Vos will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Wayne Harley was born on July 15, 1936 in Orange City, the son of Wilmar and Evelyn (Kroese) Marra. He was raised in Hull, where he attended the Hull Christian School and graduated from the Western Christian High School. On July 2, 1955, he was united in marriage to Adrianna Mae “Mick” Kleene in Sioux Center. To this union four children were born, Mark, Bruce, Dawn, and Rhonda. In September of 1955, he entered the United States Army. After being discharged, he worked at Kooiker Manufacturing and the Hull Creamery. They then moved to Orange City, where he worked at Kraai Furniture until his retirement. Mick passed away on March 23, 2014, in Orange City, after 58 years of marriage. He enjoyed time with his family and friends, but especially attending his grandchildren’s programs, concerts, and sporting events. In earlier years he enjoyed bowling and golf. Mr. Marra attended the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Bruce (Tricia) Marra, of Hull; two daughters, Dawn (Loren) Wynia and Rhonda Robyn, both of Orange City; a daughter-in-law, Julie Marra, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; eleven grandchildren, Nicole (Chris) Blum, Amanda (Ryan) Hulstein, Kelsy (Jon) Van Egdom, Ryan (Heather) Marra, Rochelle (Anthony) Behrens, Evan Marra, Troy Wynia, Brady Wynia, Tyler Robyn, Courtney Robyn, and Austin Robyn; fifteen great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Addison, Ainsley, Jackson, Cameron, Emmalyn, Owen, Maren, Ruby, Cohen, Garrett, Thea, Kolter, Madden, and Landry; two sisters-in-law, Diane Niemeyer, of Inwood and Diana Marra, of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Marra; and three brothers, Thane (Bette) Marra, Eugene Marra, and Warren Marra.
