Michael "Mike" Leon Powell

Mr. Michael “Mike” Leon Powell, age 68 of Davis Road, Eastanollee passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at his residence. A son of the late Hubert Powell, Sr. and Lena Carter Powell, he was born March 16, 1952 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served as a Military Police Officer. He was co-owner of Powell’s Dry Wall and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sammy Powell and by a sister-in-law, Connie Powell. Survivors include his wife of the home, Gail Turpin Powell; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mark Randall of Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Jessi Powell of Toccoa; grandchildren, Katie Grace Randall, Rilee Powell, Gage Powell, Zoe Jane Powell, Josie Powell and Jayce Jones; great-grandchild, Asa Neal; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charlie and Shizu Powell, Hubert Powell, Jr. and Phyllis, Joe and Linda Powell, Jerry and Renita Powell and Terry Powell all of Toccoa; sister, Lorena Wallen of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, February 12, 2021, 2 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Henry Powell, Russell Powell, Roger Powell, Jerry Lee Powell, Joshua Powell, Chris Powell and Zach Powell. The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from noon until the service time. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. For those attending the visitation and service, it is recommended that you wear a mask. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com. Interment will follow in the Eastanollee Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the V.F.W. Post 4346 Honor Guard. Acree-Davis Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Michael “Mike” Leon Powell.
