Mrs. Ollie Faye Thompson Mauk, age 83, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away February 9, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her dear family. She was born February 21, 1937 in Edwardsville, AL to the late Earl and Lula Rakestraw Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Mauk; sisters, Mabel Haynes, Odell Robinson, and Leda Bennett; and brothers, Robert Thompson and Ronnie Thompson. Faye worked at Sewell Manufacturing for years, then Dudley Sports for awhile. She finally retired from Hon Co. in Cedartown after 25 years. Her family was her passion, she loved them all dearly. She was an avid Braves fan for years and watched all their games. She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Tammy and Randal Ward, Teri Davis and Scott Mann, and Tonya and Darrin Aldridge, all of Tallapoosa; grandchildren and their spouses, Mallory and Tyler McSwain, Jonathan and Chasity Ward, Ashley and Aaron Smith, Adam Davis, Heather and Chad McIntyre, Justin and Summer Aldridge, Tracey and Victoria Aldridge, Alivia Mann, and Ryan Mann; great-grandchildren, Harper McSwain, Hudson McSwain, Shelby Rae Smith, Levi Smith, Charlotte Faye Smith, Cole Smith, Kamryn Buttram, Hayven McIntyre, Kipton Buttram, Tinsley McIntyre, Dawson Aldridge, Madi Aldridge and Mason Aldridge; and her loving caretakers, Kala Chandler, Vickie Crews, and Donna Ballew. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 at 3:00PM in the Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley McCain officiating. Music will be provided by Randal Ward, Renee Overton, and Carolyn Bridges. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Alan Mauk, Jimmy Mauk, Aubrey Bennett, Hovie Roberts, Lamar Roberts. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The funeral will be streamed live on our funeral home Facebook page for those that cannot attend. The family will receive friends before the service from 2:00 to 3:00PM. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, we are now requiring that all visitors wear a mask inside. We will be monitoring how many people are in the visitation area at a time and we kindly ask for your assistance by rotating with others in and out of the building.
