Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrate at 9:00 am on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Joseph Gilbert Auguillard, 80. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 8:30 am am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. On February 1, 2021, Joseph Gilbert Auguillard went to his heavenly home. Joseph Gilbert Auguillard was the first born of John B. and Rhena Labbe Auguillard. He attended St. Francis School and he was a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church. His education included welding, plumbing, and electrical at the trade school. He was first married to Nita Mae Robinson. He was later married to Gloria Rebecca Auguillard. In that union he was blessed with the opportunity to raise four stepchildren. He was a laborer at various factories. Later he was a laborer at the Fruit of the Loom (Martin Mills) in St. Martinville, LA until his retirement. He enjoyed playing his guitar, hunting, gardening all sorts of vegetables, and some farming raising small animals. He also enjoyed fishing with family members. Rita Bowman was his companion for 14 years. He leaves to celebrate his life his siblings, Anna Louise Arceneaux (Felix Jude), Marie Prunella Manego (late Bonito, Sr.), Helen Chaisson (Clarence), Mary Rhena Louiviere (Donald), Ralph Auguillard (Paula); stepdaughters, Gloria Gedward (Arthur), Sandra Knatt (late John Knatt); grandchildren, Jermica Lasseigne, Alesha Fontenette, Dion Milton, Takeicha Jenkins, Lashonda Gedward Williams, Cartessa Knatt Zeno, Miranda Knatt, Travis Benjamin, and Carroliner Andrus; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Celidise Simon Auguillard; his parents, John B. and Rhena Auguillard; his wife, Gloria Rebecca Auguillard; his siblings, Raymond Auguillard, Lois Sonnier (late Philip, II), John Auguillard, Jr. (Florence); and stepsons, Lloyd Lasseigne and John Lasseigne.
