DeWayne Miller Brown of Gilead, NE the son of Melvin and Mary (Grigsby) Brown was born June 1, 1932 in Kansas City, KS. He departed this life Monday, February 1, 2021 at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron, NE at the age of 88 years.

He grew up in Endicott, NE attending school and graduating from Endicott High School with the class of 1950.

He enlisted in the United States Navy December 29, 1950 and served in the Korean Theater and was honorably discharged October 18, 1954.

He married Doris Pauline Eden and this union was blessed with the birth of two children.

DeWayne was an electrician working in power plants in California and Nevada. He also did high line work. His last job was working for Reinke’s.

DeWayne was always willing to help out neighbor and friends, especially when they had electrical problems.

He enjoyed playing pool, riding motorcycles, and working on tractors but spending time with his family and especially the grandchildren was the highlight of his life.He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Roni Rene Wilder, brothers; James Brown and his twin infant Gerald Brown, and sister Linda Remmenga.

He is survived his son Michael Brown of Gilead, NE, sisters; Beverly Beckman of Turney, MO, and Sharon Powell of Hebron, NE, grandchildren; Justin Rich of Syracuse, NE, Kenny Brown of Fairbury, NE, Michael Brown and wife Bren of Omaha, NE, Jessie Brown of Springfield, NE, and Jason Urich of Fairbury, NE, nieces, nephews and friends.

Following DeWayne’s wishes he was cremated and a gathering memorial service will be held Friday June 4, 2021 at Pioneer Inn in Gilead, NE at 11:30 AM. Inurnment will be 1:30 PM also June 4, 2021 at Fairbury Cemetery in Fairbury, NE. Military Honors by U.S. Navy. Condolences may be left at www.krollfh.com. Cards can be mailed to Mike Brown P.O.
