Beverly Ann Wheeler Obituary

A cherished Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Niece, Aunt, and Friend. Beverly Ann Wheeler was born on June 12, 1949, to the late Mary Ellen Matthews and Joshua Fenwick. She departed this life on Friday, February 5, 2021, at Compass Regional Hospice Center in Centreville, Maryland surrounded by her family. Beverly was educated in Kent County Public Schools and graduated from Chestertown High in 1968. After graduating from high school, she worked various jobs and later became a nurse at Easton Hospital. She became a substitute school bus driver in 1975, for the late Noble Earle of Centreville, Maryland. She drove three routes a day and never missed a day. December 1980 she was awarded a school bus contract and became a school bus contractor. Beverly was a dedicated school bus driver. She was able to navigate through Baltimore and Washington, DC with ease. Beverly was known to her family members as the human GPS. She enjoyed and loved driving a bus. In September 2009, due to health reasons, she transferred her contract to her son, and she continued to manage the business. Beverly was an active member of the Maryland School Bus Contractors Association and the Queen Anne’s County School Bus Contractors Association as well. She held various positions locally and in the state. Beverly loved the Lord. She was a faithful member of Bethel AME Church in Church Hill, Maryland where she held various positions within the Church. Beverly was truly a woman of God and a woman of strong family values. Beverly was preceded in death by her brother Joshua Fenwick. Cherishing her memories are her sons, William Benson Jr. of Jackson, Michigan, Shawn Benson (Jessie) of Denton, Maryland, Joseph Wheeler (Timeka) of Chestertown, Maryland, Tre’Veon Wheeler Sr. (Christine) of Landover, Maryland; grandchildren, Toneiya Benson, Zhane Benson, Tre’Veon Wheeler Jr, Kyra Wheeler, Darrien Wheeler, William Benson III, Collin Woolford and Mia Benson; great-grandson, Jace McCowan; brother Terry Fenwick (Alexis); God-Daughters Tresstine Deaton, Letitcia Bailey (Travis) and Kaneisha Jackson.
