A Public Visitation for Pat Devall, age 78, of O’Neill, NE will be 12-2 pm Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill. Masks will be required and social distancing is requested. Private family services will be 3 pm Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the First Christian Church in O’Neill. The Private Service will be live-streamed on the First Christian Church O'Neill, NE Facebook page. Burial will be in the O’Neill Cemetery. Pat passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Corpus Christi Medical Center – Bay Area in Corpus Christi, Texas. Memorials are requested to the O’Neill Public School Foundation. Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill. Patricia Ann Reed was born February 27th, 1942, to Francis and Pearl (Beedle) Reed in Onawa, Iowa. She was the oldest of 6 children. Pat graduated from Onawa High School in 1960 where she played Iowa girls basketball and was active in music and theater. Pat met Gary Devall while student-teaching in Norfolk, Nebraska. They married August 23rd, 1964, in Onawa, Iowa. To this union four children were born. Brad, Dru, Mindy, and Reed. After teaching stints in Arlington, Milford, Chambers, and Inman, they settled in O’Neill. Pat dedicated her life to teaching for over 40 years. She retired in 2006 from O’Neill Public Schools where she served as teacher and curriculum director. Pat led an active life. Her favorite activities included attending her kids’ and grandkids’ activities and traveling around the world. She was a proud member of the ADK Teacher Sorority and flower club. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life as an active member of the First Christian Church and bible study groups. The last 15 years Pat and Gary spent their winters in Port Aransas, Texas, where they made many memories and great friends. Pat carried her love of teaching forward by instructing several line dancing classes. Pickleball recently became a favorite hobby and she rarely passed up a chance to play games and cards. Pat also enjoyed wood carving, cooking, water aerobics, and cross-stitching. Pat was a leader and always on the go. Pat is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gary Devall of O’Neill; four children, Brad Devall and wife, Stephanie, of Lincoln, Dru Ramold and husband, Jeff, of Omaha, Mindy Wood and husband, Rob, of Omaha, Reed and wife, Cindee, of Lincoln; nine grandchildren, Ashlynn and Alec Devall, Jackson, Jedd, and Rian Ramold, Harper and Hadley Wood, Kate and Adam Devall; sister, Lori (Larry)Whitson of Springfield, Oregon; brother, Lynn Reed of Onawa, Iowa; two brothers-in-law, Ken Martin of Little Fall Creek, Oregon; Rick (Judy) Devall of O’Neill; two sisters-in-law, Diane (Larry) Baker of Burlington Iowa, Carol Devall of O’Neill; many nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Pearl Reed; her in-laws Elmer and Dorothy Devall; brother, Larry Reed; two sisters, Carolyn Martin, Reva Walker, two brothers-in-law, Dwayne Devall, and Ben Devall. Pat was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Pat made friends wherever she went and made lasting friendships in Onawa, O’Neill, and Port Aransas.
