Darius John Herold

Mr. Darius J. Herold, age 44, of San Antonio, Texas passed away February 1, 2021. He was born on October 12, 1976, in Weslaco, Texas to parents, Darius Winston Herold and Charlotte Dunn. Darius grew up in the Rio Grande Valley, Mercedes, TX as a child and then moved to San Antonio and graduated from Taft Highschool. He was AVP of Mortgage Originations at Security Service Federal Credit Union and took great pride in his job and team. On June 14, 2008 he married the love of his life, Stephanie Grant in Las Vegas, Nevada. Darius and Stephanie have two beautiful daughters, Madison and Mya. Darius enjoyed cooking meals for his family and friends on their grill and watching all manner of sports. He was an avid fan of the Houston Astros Baseball team and enjoyed strategizing over Fantasy Football. Darius was an active person who enjoyed running and crossed the finish line in several half marathons. He also enjoyed hunting with his father before he passed. One of his many favorite places to visit was the beach, a place that brought him great peace. He is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie; daughters, Madison and Mya; mother, Charlotte Dehn; sister, Merielle Boatman, her husband, Brad and niece, Riley Boatman; father and mother-in-law, Johnnie and Christina Grant; brother-in-law, Anthony Grant; and many other loving family and friends; and the family pet, Bo-Duke. I was so sorry to hear of Darius' passing. I worked with him at SSFCU until I retired in 2016. He was such a terrific co-worker and enjoyable young man. May the Lord wrap his arms around your family and help you through this unexpected loss.
