Prince, Roland Emmy Olalekan Olajide

<p>Roland was born on October 23rd, 1949, in Lagos Nigeria. He was born into the Aboloyinjo Olajide Royal Dynasty of Ejiyan-Ekiti, Ekiti-State, Nigeria. He attended Ilesha Grammar School and Adventist Grammar School Ede, both in present day Osun State, Nigeria. He worked briefly with the Nigerian Immigration Service before relocating to the US in search of greener pastures.&nbsp;</p> <p><br /> Roland attended Lewis University, Romeoville, Illinois, where he obtained both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in the fields of criminal and social justice. He worked in Joliet Correctional Center in Illinois and later Queen Anne&#39;s County Correctional Center MD until he retired after about a total of 30 years of service in law enforcement. During his tenure of service at Queen Anne County, he received numerous awards for loyalty, diligence and outstanding performance.&nbsp;</p> <p><br /> He got married to his first wife, Kemi on July 29, 1978 and both were blessed with three beautiful children. On December 2, 1996 he got married to Sola, his wife and widow with whom he spent the rest of his life.&nbsp;</p> <p><br /> Roland was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world.<br /> Anyone who knew Roland knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He loved to be around his children and grandchildren, his stepchildren,&nbsp; and step grandchildren, his siblings, his numerous cousins nieces and nephews who also loved to spend time with him.</p> <p><br /> He was very sociable and friendly. He loved to go fishing with Grafton, his bosom friend whom he met at Queen Anne and who stood by him during a most difficult time of his life and with whom he kept in contact till he was called to rest. Roland was a lover of most any genre of music. He loved to dance and sing. He started to learn how to play the key board last year. He was quite a handyman and loved to fix things around the house. He loved sports, politics and traveling. Roland loved the Lord and was a baptized member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church until he was called to rest.</p> <p>Roland is survived by his wife, his children, grandchild, his step children and step grandchildren, his siblings and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces and family friends.</p> <p><br /> We look forward to reuniting with Roland at the great resurrection of the Saints. Until then, we bid our beloved Roland goodnight.<br /> &nbsp;</p>

Obituary
