Raymond McDonald Obituary

Raymond Paul McDonald, 78, of Greenwood, passed away on February 1, 2021.  He was born on May 12, 1942  in Indianapolis, to the late Raymond Bryant and Katherine M. (Schmitt) McDonald He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1960.  He enjoyed collecting cars, working in the yard, and was an avid motor sports fan, especially the Indy 500.  He enjoyed going to track events and sharing that experience with family and friends. Raymond was a lifelong body shop man.  He managed several dealership collision centers starting in the 1970's including Dellen Olds, Lockhart Cadillac, Pearson Ford and Tutwiler Cadillac.  He semi-retired from Tutwiler in 2010, but  worked the last 3 years as a Kroger associate in the Click-List. He made many friends among his Kroger co-workers. He won the appreciation of customers, as well as their dogs. Raymond leaves behind to treasure his memory, his daughters, Debbie (Kenny) Huebner and Dr. Jeanette McDonald (Charles Hantzis); four grandchildren, Thomas (Lauren), Dale, Connor, and Nathaniel; and a new great grand-daughter Joanna; siblings, Margaret Crisostomo, Sylvia Long and half-sister Christy Hempel; and long time close friend Maryann Miller. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47+ years, JoAnn McDonald and his brother, Father Jerry McDonald. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. He will be laid to rest next to JoAnn at The Gardens at Olive Branch Cemetery and Mausoleum Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Raymond's name to the charity of your choice.
