Debra Renae Defiel

Debra Defiel age 61, of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota died on February 1, 2021 at her home in Sleepy Eye. Interment will be at the New Ulm City Cemetery in New, Minnesota at a later date. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com. Debra Renae Defiel passed away in her home on February 1, 2021. Debra was born on June 15, 1959 in Sleepy Eye, MN the daughter of Gordon and Agnes (VanVickle) Thoms. She attended the Sleepy Eye Public School and graduated in 1977. While in high school she enjoyed cheer leading and basketball. Over the years Debra had a few jobs including Del Monte, Pamida and Sleepy Eye Telephone Co. She was a homemaker and worked at the Orchid Inn. Debra enjoyed embroidery work making dishtowels and other sewing projects. She also enjoyed being outside, loved her plants and flowers and going for walks. She also loved seeing her children and grandchildren.She is survived by her children, Bridget Mullaly, Tyler Defiel, Hallie Defiel, grandchildren, Sophia Mullaly and Chaplin Defiel, siblings, Beverly Hardin, Richard Thoms, Barbara Thoms, Doug Thoms and Gary Thoms and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Debra had a big heart and kind soul. She always had a smile on her face and was willing to give a hand if needed. She will be greatly missed. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
