Ronald M. Secary, Sr.

<p>Ron Secary, Sr., 84, of Louella Drive, Windber, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021.&nbsp; Ron was born on January 2, 1937, in Johnstown, to Mario and Theresa (Krotkosky) Secary. Preceded in death by Parents, &nbsp;Wife Virginia (Sepp) Secary; Son Benedict Secary; Siblings James Secary, twin Brother Donald Secary,&nbsp; Louis Secary, and Eleanor, wife of John Horvath. Survived by Son Ron Secary Jr., of Mechanicsburg; Daughter Tammie Crouse, of Windber, and &ldquo;Honorary&rdquo; Daughter Jeanne Wirick, also of Windber. Grandchildren; Anthony, Vincent, Nikki, Lauren, and Alexandra, and Great Grandchild, Lennon, and many Nieces and Nephews. Ron was a hard-working, family-oriented man, who was devoted to his wife, enjoyed fishing and hunting, reading Kurt Vonnegut novels, watching classic movies, and following his favorite sports teams, including Penn State Football, Pittsburgh Steelers Football, and Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey. He also enjoyed discussing Politics. After High School, he enlisted in the US Navy, and traveled the world before being Honorably discharged in 1958. He married Virginia Sepp in 1959. For most of his life he was employed as a Coal Miner. Through hard work and perseverance, he was promoted to Mine Foreman. He retired in 2000, to care for his Wife, Virginia, after she was diagnosed with cancer. During his retirement, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, walks in the woods with his dog Babe, and following his favorite sports teams. He was a kind and caring person, who was always there for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Funeral arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Somerset County Humane Society, which is an organization that he admired and donated to.
