James R. Fortenbaugh

James R. Fortenbaugh, 83, of Middletown succumbed to Covid19 on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the Harrisburg Hospital. He was born on December 29, 1937 in Londonderry Twp. and was the loving son of the late James R. and Katheryn (Deimler) Fortenbaugh. James was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, trap shooting and was an equestrian for the Pennsylvania Derby. He was an avid golfer and played semi-pro football for the Cumberland Colts. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene L. Brinser. James is survived by his half-brother, Michael Fortenbaugh of Altoona; nephews, John "Michael" Brinser, Alan R. Brinser; nieces, Karen L. Halliday, Lisa A. Beach. There will be a graveside service on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Hillsdale Cemetery, 1639 Hillsdale Rd. Middletown, PA with Rev. Britt Strohecker officiating. The family has entrusted the Matinchek Funeral Home, 260 E. Main St. Middletown, PA with the funeral arrangements. Condolences can be sent online at www.matinchekfuneralhome.com
