Lindy E. DeShong
Lindy E. DeShong, age 85, of Harrisonville, PA, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on Saturday, November 30, 1935 in Harrisonville, PA, the son of the late Pleasant and the late Myrtle (Keefer) DeShong. Lindy married the late Theda Mae Lewis, who passed away on December 15, 1998. In 2000, Lindy married Shirley Ann Rice. Lindy worked for Penn Dot as an Equipment Operator until he retired in 1998. In addition to his wife Shirley Ann DeShong, Lindy is survived by three children, Manasseh I. DeShong of Chambersburg, PA, Ruth A. (wife of Danny) Strait of McConnellsburg, Pa, and Deborah L. Elser of Harrisonville, PA, two stepchildren, Diana Martin of Cumberland, MD and Keith Rice of Cumberland, MD, 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Lindy is also survived by two sisters, Lottie Sheetz of St. Thomas, PA and Joan Kautz if Malvern, PA. Lindy is preceded in death by his parents, Pleasant and Myrtle DeShong, his wife Theda DeShong, and five sisters, Mary McFadden, Heidi DeShong, Theda Sloat, Dottie Oakman and Gretta DeShong and one brother P. LeRoy DeShong. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, services are private and at the convenience of the family. Professional services are provided by Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home in McConnellsburg, PA.
