Melvin Leo Clark, 81, of Malta, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017. He was born Jan. 30, 1936 in Pennsville, son of the late Madge McPeak Clark Strode and Fread Clark. He worked several years in the oil fields and worked in foil division of Gould. He retired from Morgan Local Schools as a bus driver. He served several terms as a Penn Township Trustee and also enjoyed being a 4-H advisor. He was a 50year member of Webb Lodge 252 of Stockport a past Master, served as Trustee and was a member of the 32Nd Scottish Rite in Cambridge. He also was a 25year member of Valley Chapter OES, a member of the Morgan County Shrine Club and enjoyed collecting donations for the Shriners Hospital. He also served as a Republican Central Committee Man for several years. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Wagner Clark whom he married June 7, 1958, 2 sons, Jeff (Gaile) Clark of Lillington, NC, Brian (Annette) Clark of McConnelsville, daughter, Jacqueline Clark of Malta, granddaughter, Erin Clark of Lillington NC, sister, Nancy (Terry) Zumbro of Chesterhill and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Clark, brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth (Betty) Clark, sister and brother-in-law, Glendora (Edgar) Spencer and a sister Charmin. Leo enjoyed visiting with people at the Stockport restaurant for many years till his illness got the best of him. Leo will be sadly missed by his family, friends and his beloved dog JoJo. Services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Burial will follow in the Pennsville Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Thursday, July 6 from 4-7:30 P.M. with Masonic services following at 7:30 P.M.
