Ernest Talmage Mentzer, of Shenandoah and formerly of Newton, Iowa and Yates Center, Kansas, passed away on Thursday evening, June 29, 2017 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA at the age of 104 years, 7 months, 9 days. A graveside celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 11:00 at Yates Center Cemetery in Yates Center, Kansas with military honors. A memorial is being established. The Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center is assisting the family. Left to cherish Ernest's memory are his two daughters, Pat Mentzer and Jan Stevenson and her husband Tom of Northboro, IA.
