Marian Geddie Obituary

Marian King Geddie, 85 , of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Fayetteville, NC passed away Monday February 1, 2021 at Atrium Health in Pineville, NC.

She was born July 31, 1935 in Nash County, NC to the late Eunice Irene Hardy King and Walton Conrad King. Marian was preceded in death by her husband Donald F. Geddie; her son George Marshall Sullivan III; her sisters Dorothy Hopkins, Frances Speight, Mavis Mosley, and Elizabeth Kennedy; and her brothers Adam Thorpe (A.T.) King, Walton Thomas King, and Ronald Jeffrey King.

Marian was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville until moving to Charlotte in December 2018. Her hobbies included playing bridge, playing Bingo, fishing, and cooking. Marian loved to travel to the beach and owned several homes at the coast over the years. She always had an eye for fashion and enjoyed dressing her best. Marian cherished the memories she made with friends and always had a funny story or joke to tell. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who was especially proud of her grandsons.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Leigh Sullivan Clavin and husband John of Matthews, NC; her grandsons Cameron Marshall Clavin of Charlotte, NC and Connor Alexander Clavin of Charleston, SC; her sister Ginger King Burke of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 3 at 1PM at Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville with Rev. Dr. Richard McDuffie, Jr. officiating.
