Thomas C. Anderson, age 77 of Perry, passed away January 30, 2021 at TriPoint Medical Center. He was born March 18, 1943 in Latrobe, Pa. to the late Thomas William and Catharine J. (McNeely) Anderson. Tom married Shirley Ann Anderson July 22, 1962. He was Assistant Manager at J.J. Newberry Co. from 1961 to 1966. He then went on to become a Radio Dispatcher for the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 1966. He retired in 1996 and was awarded the State Dispatcher of the Year in 1986) and as group Captain of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary in 2008. He spent his retirement years working part-time as a Funeral Assistant with Johnson Funeral Home driving the hearse and assisting with services. Tom was a member of Temple Lodge # 28 (Past Master) in Painesville, Painesville Chapter # 46 R.A.M., Mt. Olive Chapter # 189 (R.A.M.), Painesville Council # 104, Painesville Commandery # 46, Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland (Past Sovereign Prince in 2004, Created a 33 degree in 2005), received the Rainbow Grand Cross of Color in 1991, received the Honorary Legion of Honor from DeMolay International in 2000, Urania Chapter Order of Eastern Star (Past Worthy Patron and served as Grand Aide 3 times). He also received honorary membership in Rock Creek Masonic Lodge and Symbol Lodge both now closed, received honorary membership in Lakeshore Masonic Lodge, Triandria Lodge and Hartsgrove Lodges. Served as President of the Cornerstone Club (OES) and Lake Geauga Scottish Rite Society. He was also a member of Walter E. Drake Council # 145 Allied Masonic Degrees and St. Benedict Conclave Order of the Red Cross of Constantine. Served as District Deputy Grand Master of the 25th Masonic District for 3 years. Aside of his Masonic memberships he was served as Chairman of the Safety Committee of the Village of Roaming Shores when the Police Department was started. He served several terms on the Church Board of the Painesville Church of the Brethren and served as President of the Lake County Fireman's Association in 1972. He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years Shirley, son Dennis (Bobbi) Anderson of Fairport Harbor, grandchildren Kim (Chris) Blakeslee of Mentor, Beth (Brandon) Felger of Chardon, Ben (Tyree) Woodford of Kamahi, Idaho and 9 great grandchildren. He also leaves his sister Amy Rolf of Bainbridge and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William David Anderson. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 4th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Avenue, (opposite Lake Erie College), Painesville. Temple Lodge # 28 F & A.M. will conduct a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Painesville Church of the Brethren, 10410 Buckeye Rd., Painesville, Ohio 44077.
