It is with deep sorrow and an abundance of love that we mourn the passing of Brittney Basham on January 29, 2021, at the age of 30. Brittney was born May 29, 1990, in Knoxville and was a lifelong area resident. She worked as a 2nd grade teacher at Norwood Elementary School as well as working in the ticket office for the University of Tennessee Athletic Department for home football, basketball, and baseball games. Brittney was a passionate educator and molder of young minds. She was an avid University of Tennessee sports fan and lover of country music. Most of all, Brittney was known for her devotion and fierce loyalty to family and friends and her infectious spirit and energy. She also cherished her role as Aunt BB to her niece, Charlotte. She will be lovingly remembered by paternal grandparents Russ and Beverly Basham; maternal grandparents; Peggy Roberts and the late Ted Roberts; her parents, Bruce and Donna; her brother, Brett; sister-in-law, Mary Margaret; niece, Charlotte; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many close friends. A funeral service and celebration of Brittney’s life is scheduled for 6:30 pm on Tuesday, February 2, at CENTER FAITH CHURCH, 7003 Wright Road, Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Brittney’s name to the Literacy Program at Norwood Elementary School, 1909 Merchant Drive, Knoxville, TN, 37912.
