Dorothy Louise Hendrix

Dorothy Louise Kincheloe Hendrix, 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. Born on September 26, 1930 to Arthur and Ruth (Dutton) Kincheloe in Melstone, Montana, Dorothy spent most of her life in that area, deeply rooted in & dedicated to that community. She married Keith Hendrix on December 5, 1948 which was later solemnized in Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. The two of them raised a family and ranched until 1989, when they moved to Orem, Utah. Dorothy’s work ethic led her to a cherished second career with Utah County, supervising cleaning and later working in the Microfilm department. A natural storyteller and meticulous historian, Dorothy has written four biographies, including her own. She amassed an impressive antique doll collection, loved celebrating the 4th of July, and always kept Diet Coke on hand for her grandchildren. She dedicated herself to service within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was friendly and generous and vigilant about helping her neighbors. She is survived by her children: Ken (Janice), Salem, UT; Penee (H.B.) Arnett, Meridian, ID; Gene (Barbara), Hurricane, UT; Jeff, Mapleton, UT, along with 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, her parents, Arthur and Ruth Kincheloe, her siblings: Boyd, Wendell, Wade, Sherrill, Audrey, Virginia, and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Hendrix. Private funeral services will be Wednesday, February 3 at 11:00 a.m. for family members, but all are invited to participate through the livestream available on www.walkersanderson.com. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please donate to the charity of your choice in memory of Dorothy.
