Samuel Lee Porter Age 65, of Eaton Rapids, MI passed away on January 27, 2021 after a courageous and hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Sam was born on July 7, 1955 in Gainesville, Florida the son of James and Mary (Cruce) Porter. He was raised in Micanopy, FL before enlisting and joining the US Army. Sam was very crafty and enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and constructing and collecting model planes, cars and trucks. He was also an avid Florida Gators fan and a collector of Gators gear and Coke-Cola products. Sam was a loving father and grandfather who cherished his grandchildren and the time he was able to spend with them. He is preceded in death by his father, James Porter and late wife, Karen Porter. Surviving are his mother, Mary Baker; daughters, Samantha (Scott Hanes) Porter, Kristina (Jeremy) BeVier; sons, Kory Scruggs, Bobby Scruggs; grandchildren, Riley Hanes, Preston DeSilva, Kaidyn and Kenzie BeVier, Camryn and Chase Scruggs, Leah and Dominick Scruggs; brother, Ralph Porter and sister, Dusty Fancher (Sis).
