Garnet Lucille Bloms

Garnet Bloms, 90, Minot, ND, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Edgewood Vista Memory Care in Minot.  Garnet Lucille Vedvig was born July 19, 1930 in Minot, ND, the daughter of Hjalmer and Selma (Johnson) Vedvig, in Minot, ND. She attended Hartland Elementary School and Minot High School, graduating in 1948.  She was united in marriage to Henry Bloms July 25, 1950, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Minot. In 1951, she moved with Henry to what they made Bloms Dairy Farm, rural Carpio, ND, where she farmed grain and dairy.  Henry passed away on June 16, 1999. Garnet stayed on the farm and milked cows until November of 2008, when Bloms Dairy became Bloms Beef. She moved into Minot in 2012.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Foxholm, the Eagles Auxiliary and the Knights of Columbus.  Her loving family includes:  children, Bruce (Kim) Bloms, Carpio, ND, Russell (Barbara) Bloms, Maple Grove, MN, Susan (Delton) Lawson, Beulah, ND, Paul (Patty) Bloms, Foxholm, ND, and Larry (Kim) Bloms, Carpio, ND; grandchildren, Carmen Bloms (Tim Bader), Monte (Nikki) Bloms, Jill (Jeremy) Brown, Angie (Shayne) Solem, Blaine (Renae) Bloms, Lindsey (Nick) Ahlschlager, Levi (Lexi) Lawson, Holly (Justin) Kangas, Lucas Bloms, Alex (McKenzie) Bloms, Landis (Kassy) Bloms, Lyndon (Tracie) Bloms, Logyn Bloms; great-grandchildren, Jaeden (Sabrina) Jenson and Cole Jenson, Brooklyn, Addison, Brynlee and Rhett Bloms, Carlie Brown, Rachael Brown, Sydney and Kinley Solem, Brayden and Bridger Bloms, Brexley and Sloane Ahlschlager, Kinley Lawson, Olivia Kangas, Laynie Bloms, Adley Bloms; great-great-grandchildren, Savanna Jenson, Andria Davis; sister-in-law, Bernice Redding, Minot, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.     Garnet was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry; infant son, John Lyle Bloms; brothers, Floyd and Duane Vedvig; and sister, Vi Hunter.  Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, January 28, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Foxholm, ND. Burial: St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Foxholm, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
