Bessie Crosby Winstead, 91 of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Neal and Laura Bell Sinard Crosby; husband: Chris Winstead; son: Carroll Wayne Winstead; brothers and sisters-in-law Fred and Edith Crosby, and Luther and Mary Ruth Crosby; sister: Nannie Lou Ferguson and sister and brother-in-law: Betty C. (Charles “Pug”) Chambers.

She worked many years at Forest Products and then retired from Petros Grill where she helped her son, Dennis.

Bessie leaves her son: Dennis Winstead; granddaughter: Melissa (Shawn) Poma; great grandchildren:  Colby and Cailey Covington; sister: Annie Pearl Bellaire and several nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends.

The family would like to say a special thank you to UT Hospice and her caregivers: Kim, Brittney, Jessica, Amy, Emily, Shelley, and Stacy; SCHAS; and her many friends at Laurel Wood Apartments, especially Rhonda Overholt and Katy Laura Bishop.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Mayes Mortuary.  Graveside services will follow at 3:00 PM in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
