Colin McKenzie Okotoks, Alberta Obituary

Colin McKenzie

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Colin McKenzie on January 23, 2021 at the age of 65 years. Beloved son of Elizabeth and George McKenzie (George passed away in 2016). Colin was an avid sportsman. In his younger years he liked downhill and cross-country skiing, and playing racquetball, squash and tennis. Later on he gave his Dad a run for his money on the golf course and at the billiard table. He enjoyed watching all sports but was especially fond of tennis, soccer and golf. Colin experienced a bit of the world. Highlights include six months backpacking through Europe and a month visiting Mayan sites in Mexico, both with his brother; and a delightful vacation in Scotland, golfing and visiting relatives with his Dad. Colin was a loving son, always available to put his handyman skills to work helping to put things right at his Mum’s house. Colin will be sorely missed by his mother Elizabeth, sister Moira (Garrett), and brother Douglas (Cyndi). He will also be fondly remembered by nephews Wyatt (Christina), niece Tiffany (Stephen and Charlotte), and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada, Scotland, Spain, and South Africa. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, Colin asked that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. As per Colin’s wishes no service will be held. Arrangements in Care of Snodgrass Funeral Home Okotoks 403-938-3111.
