Funeral Mass for Frances Riedl, 87, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a.m., Friday January 29, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Bill Ruelle celebrating. Burial will take place in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation for Frances will be 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 28 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 5:00 p.m. For those attending, please follow recommendations from the CDC and ND Department of Health. Family asks that masks are worn at all times. If you are unable to attend, you may view the live webcast of Frances’s services. Go to the Stevenson Funeral Home website, click on Frances’s photo, select photos and videos and click watch webcast. Frances passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson. Frances was born on August 9, 1933 in Dodge, North Dakota the daughter of John and Mary (Senger) Gleich. She grew up and attended school in Dodge. Frances moved to Dickinson to work at the Ray Hotel. While working as a waitress she met Jeff Cook. The couple was married May 20, 1953. They were blessed with seven children, Tim, Dean, Dana, Brian, Colleen, Jim and Rhonda. Frances married Edward Riedl on August 9, 1979 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Gladstone. In 1985, the family moved to Denver, Colorado and three years later returned to Dickinson. Retirement for the couple began in 2010 and Frances and Edward were inseparable. They enjoyed driving around, eating out at various restaurants, and praying the rosary every day after breakfast and supper. Frances, in her later years, lived in the nursing home and she was blessed to have Edward diligently visit her. Frances enjoyed cooking and baking. Some of her family’s favorites were, her homemade bread, peach cobbler, creamed chicken and any of her soups. Frances will be remembered for her sweet and generous personality. Frances is survived by her sons, Tim (Sue) Cook, Dean Cook; daughters, Colleen (Mike) Rohr, Rhonda (Jeff) Winch; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Gleich; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward (2019); sons, Brian Jim, and Dana Cook; brothers, Pius, Tony; sisters, Eva Mischel, Helen Hauck and Judy.
