Betty Boyd Elkins

Betty Boyd Elkins, age 90, of West Paducah, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Providence Point in Paducah. Betty was born in Princeton, Kentucky on September 8, 1930 to the late Lindsey and Jessie Merrick. She was the 9th of 11 children. A lifelong member of Maxon Christian Church, Betty was an active member of the church and minister’s wife. She is survived by her son, Darrell Boyd and wife, Cindy of Paducah; step-son, Roy Elkins of Possum Trot; brother, Herbie Merrick of Princeton; four grandchildren, Jason Lawrence (Holly) of Arlington, Ashley Gentry (Jared) of Paducah, Justin Boyd (Carolyn) of Bowling Green, Meredith Martin (Jason) of Paducah; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her first husband, William A. Boyd; second husband, Carlos Elkins; daughter, Shelia Leidecker; step-son, Carlos Elkins, Jr.; and her parents. A graveside service for Betty will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Keith Tilford officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
