SMITH CENTER – Violet Jane Gibson age 97 passed away on Monday January 25, 2021 at the Smith County Memorial Hospital in Smith Center, KS. She was a homemaker. Violet was born the daughter of Homer & Ermil (Hahn) Casteel on January 25, 1924 in Smith County, KS. She was a member of the Athol Congregational Church now known as the Athol United Church. She attended grade school in Kensington and high school in Athol. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Emery; a son Gary; 4 sisters Neva, Lucille, Tressie and Gladys and 1 brother Ray. Survivors include her daughter Janna (Allen) Daniels of Athol, KS; a son Jim (Janie) Gibson of Napa, ID; 5 grandchildren; 1 step grandson; 3 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren.
