Dianna Michelle Sendak (Skiles) "Shelly" 63, from Moyock, NC passed away Sunday January 24, 2021 peacefully surrounded by her family. Dianna was the daughter of the late Elsie Skiles (Standifer) and Franklin Skiles. Dianna was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan where she lived all of her life until 2000 before moving to Virginia. While in Michigan, she attended Willow Run High School. She was a member of the marching band and graduated in 1975. Dianna also later attended MCI (Medical Careers Institute) in Virginia Beach Virginia and received her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree in 2007. She held positions in various fields. Some of them include: She was a cook and lead worker in the Food and Nutrition Department at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI, Windermere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Virginia Beach where she was a Kitchen Food Service Manager. She had worked at Autumn Care rehab center in Chesapeake, Virginia as a LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). Dianna enjoyed baseball and basketball the most out of all sports. She was a very active Detroit Tiger fan! She enjoyed gardening, loved watching ESPN sports channel, cooking and spending time with her pets. She was a cat lover. She also rescued cats that didn’t have a home or was not getting adopted by anyone either from age or health. She gave her pets a good home with lots of love. Dianna was proceeded in death by her father, Franklin Skiles in 1991 and her mother Elsie Skiles (Standifer) in 2002. Dianna is survived by her husband Jack Sendak of Moyock, NC whom she was married to for 19 years, her daughter Krystal Boren (Pack) and husband John Boren of Chesapeake, VA; her son Franklin Pack and his wife Jessica Pack (Moore) of Simpsonville, SC., a granddaughter, Taylor Pack and grandson Franklin Pack Jr. of Simpsonville, SC.; father in law Ronald Sendak of Virginia Beach; stepson Michael Sendak and his wife Betty Sendak (Campbell) of Virginia Beach, VA; stepdaughter Rebecca Sendak from Huntingdon, PA and many other cousins, aunts, uncles, great aunt and great uncles in other states. She will be deeply missed by all of her family, friends, her cat Miss Kitty and her two dogs Bella and Buster. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Oman Funeral Home 653 Cedar Rd., Chesapeake, VA 23322. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
