Betty Bennett Womble

Betty Bennett Womble passed away on Sunday, January 24th at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Betty was born to the late Mary Frances and Jennings Bennett in Surry County on June 17, 1932. Betty grew up in Pilot Mountain where she graduated from High School. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother. Betty was a longtime active member of Becks Baptist Church, she enjoyed volunteering especially at Meals on Wheels, Senior Services Inc. Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Aldene Bennett and sister, Evelyn B. Hamlin. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ernest McNeil Womble, three children; Lu-Anne Womble Shumate (Philip) of Pilot Mountain, Steven McNeil Womble (Sarah), and Mary Womble URen (Mark), four grandchildren; LeeAnna, Austin, Jack, Max, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Forsyth Memorial Park, 3771 Yadkinville Rd., Winston-Salem, NC, 27106.
