Larry L. Anderson, 77, of Mulkeytown, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 in SIH Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. Larry formerly owned and operated Anderson Overhead Doors in Carterville. Larry was a member of The Vine Church in Carbondale serving as a Member of the Board. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. Larry was born August 22, 1943 in Sewickley, PA to Garland and Bernice (Aaron) Anderson. Larry married Carol Groves on June 15, 1963 in Elgin, IL. She survives him in Mulkeytown. Also surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Regina Bates and husband Doug of Mulkeytown and Kristie Riggs and husband Major Brian Riggs of Bloomfield, IN; grandchildren, Rebekah Cannon and husband Josh of Makanda, IL, Victoria Munaretto of Mulkeytown, and Suzanne Munaretto of Mulkeytown, Madison Bates of Mulkeytown, Maggie Bates of Mulkeytown, Pacey Riggs of Bloomfield, IN, and Alexandria Riggs of Bloomfield, IN; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil & Eunice Anderson of Herrin; sister and brother-in-law, Mary & Ray Kaup of Herrin; sister-in-law, Gene Anderson of Bensonville, IL; mother-in-law, Imogene “Nean” Groves of Mulkeytown; sister-in-law, Tina Dyer and husband Bill of TN; son, Steve Morgan and wife Shu-hui of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Kie Morgan, Keya Menziez and husband Sam, Tayli Morgan, and Judah Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews including special niece, Amanda Cash and nephew, Chad Cash. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Anderson; and son-in-law, LTC Joseph A. Munaretto, MD. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin, IL with Steve Morgan officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2021 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Zeigler Cemetery with military rites performed by the Orient American Legion Post 1961 and Zeigler American Legion Post 177.
